Dear Parent/Carer
P7 Transition Days 16th & 17th June 2022
I am writing to you to confirm arrangements for our final induction days in June. Primary 7 have made an excellent impression during their visits to Park Mains and we are looking forward to welcoming them into S1 in August. In order to prepare for this, P7 will attend two induction days where pupils will follow a proper timetable and get to meet their new classmates. This is an opportunity for them to meet some teachers and to experience a “normal” day at High School. The times for these days are as follows:

If your child goes to Rashielea, Barsail, Bargarran, St John Bosco or St Anne’s, they should arrive at Park Mains by 9.15am. Pupils will be asked to line up in new classes before going to the Assembly Hall for a short assembly. They will then follow a timetable for the rest of the day before being released at 3.30pm.
If your child goes to Bishopton, Dargavel, Langbank or Inchinnan they will be transported from primary school and should attend primary at the normal time. They will then be transported back to school, leaving Park Mains at the times detailed above.
Pupils will follow timetabled classes for these days and will be escorted from class to class by our S3 Guides, many of whom they met on the induction days in May.
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that we have a Parents Information Session on the Thursday evening. Due to the high numbers coming into S1 we are hosting two sessions that evening. Refreshments will be available and you will have the opportunity to meet Mr Dick (Head Teacher) and Miss Maynes (S1 Year Head). Schools have been allocated times (as shown below):

If there are any difficulties with these times please contact your primary school in the first instance. We would ask that a maximum of two people per household attend the information session due to limited space.
The aim of the transition process is to make the start to S1 as successful and as positive as possible for our young people. Should you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff on the evening of the 16th June.
