All pupils are encouraged to have calculators for specific topics in Mathematics at all levels. As pupils are not allowed to use mobile phones as calculators in SQA examinations they are not allowed to use them in class. It is therefore important that pupils are confident in using calculators from S1 onwards and it is beneficial if they have their own where possible.
