School Transport – Bishopton Update

Since the school returned on 15 August, there has been some issues with the pupils being transported from Bishopton to school on the school contract buses provided by SPT and Renfrewshire Council.

The contracts have been monitored and reviewed by Renfrewshire Council in conjunction with SPT and pleased to confirm that these issues have now been resolved. The contractor allocated to provide transport for Bishopton, Inchinnan and Langbank is Gibson Direct. Within the next week Gibson Direct will create a bus pass for all pupils who have been allocated to these contracts, the bus passes will be issued to the school and passed to pupils as soon as possible after receipt as bus drivers will ask the pupils to show them on boarding. Once all bus passes are issued, pupils must carry these bus passes with them every day as we will be operating a ‘no pass no travel’ on the buses.

Pupils will be allocated to a specific bus based on their home address and can only travel on the allocated bus, pupils cannot travel on any other bus for insurance and capacity issues. Only pupils who have applied to Renfrewshire Council and are entitled to travel on the school bus will be allowed to travel using their bus pass. Anyone who has not applied for a bus pass should do so as a matter of urgency to Renfrewshire Council.

The school transport will continue to be monitored by SPT and the school to ensure safe travel for all entitled pupils.
