This year, we have introduced an S1 Paired Numeracy programme where S1 pupils are paired with an S6 pupil to carry out further practice of their numeracy work. S1 pupils selected are not necessarily those who find numeracy challenging but rather those who would benefit from further consolidation.
This is an excellent opportunity for those selected to spend a further 15 minutes each week practicing number work involving the four operations. Pupils will regularly work through a Paired Numeracy booklet which is available to view on our school website.
Pupils will also be given the opportunity to access online numeracy-based games such as Sumdog and Hit the Button.
We look forward to seeing the positive impact this intervention has on those involved in the programme.
