Park Mains High School

Hi I am Lesley MacKay and I am the careers adviser at Park Mains High. I am in school most days and am supported by Julia McMahon another Careers adviser on Thursdays and Fridays. We work for Skills Development Scotland and we support pupils from first year all the way through school and beyond to help them into the career of their choice. We work a lot with senior pupils to support their career planning and to help with applications to College, University and Modern apprenticeships.

Our website www.myworldofwork.co.uk has lots of tools and advice for pupils and parents to support with option choices, writing cv's and finding out about your skills and strengths to help find suitable career paths.

Pupils can arrange interviews via their pastoral care teacher or directly. We are happy to support parents with advice. Parents and carers are a big influence on pupils so we would love to involve you in supporting pupils to find the best path for them.

Interview Skills Workshop

Many thanks to Alison Burnett, People Manager at Morrisons Erskine, who came in on Friday to lead an employability workshop with some of our senior pupils. It was a really practical session, full of good ideas and tips aimed at landing that perfect job.
