School clothing grant and free school meals applications are now open.
- These applications are for the new school year starting in August 2026.
- You must submit an application for each new school year.
- Apply by Sunday 12th July 2026 and Renfrewshire Council will process your application before the new term starts.

You could save up to £889.75 per secondary school child by applying. This total saving is for both a school clothing grant and free school meals.
Anyone on Universal Credit can earn up to £995 per month and still be eligible.
The Council provides holiday payments for free school meals. Payments are £2.35 per day per child. They cover the October, Christmas, February, Easter and summer holidays.
