Updated Guidance on School Procedures 11th August 2020
PE
Scottish Government guidance states that, during the current Covid-19 restrictions, practical PE cannot be taught indoors. As a result of this guidance, until otherwise advised, all PE will take place outdoors.
To minimise the unnecessary use of changing facilities, pupils who have PE period 1 should come to school dressed in their PE kit. At the end of the period all pupils will be expected to change into their school uniform. Pupils who have PE during the last period of the day will no longer be asked to change at the end of the period (although they can if they wish to do so).
Whilst we would hope that all PE practical lessons would be held outside, in the event of severely inclement weather a decision will be taken to teach pupils inside. In that event pupils would work inside on PE based written activities. Given the unpredictable nature of our climate, pupils should bring PE kit that is reflective of the fact that they may be outside in cool or damp weather.
Water Coolers
Updated guidance from Corporate Health and Safety states that water coolers can now be used in schools so your child will be able to re-fill their water bottle as required.
Health and Safety
As you will be aware from the Summer Parent Pack, a number of Health and Safety guidelines have been put in place for the safety of our school community. We will be supporting pupils upon their return to school as they get used to these new routines. Any breach of the Health and Safety rules will be dealt with as a priority and we would ask for parental support in reinforcing this with their child.
Visiting Shops
A reminder that when not within the school grounds, pupils will be expected to follow Scottish Government guidelines on the use of face coverings and social distancing, where appropriate.
Further to this, we have had a communication from Morrisons. The store has a limit to the number of customers so pupils may have to queue to get in. They have emphasised that face masks should be worn as per Scottish Government guidelines. When using self-service tills pupils will only be allowed to use the tills one at a time
