Dear Parent/Carer
I hope that you and your family are safe and well. I wanted to update you on the arrangements and provision for our pupils as we come to end of this term and look ahead to after the Easter holiday.
Over the past 2 weeks our staff have been working tirelessly to provide a variety of tasks through our online platforms for our S1-3 pupils. On the whole, the engagement of our young pupils has been extremely positive, and I would like to thank you as parents and carers for your support in this process which is very much appreciated. We have had feedback that some pupils have been talking about the amount of work and I would wish to emphasise that pupils should work at their own pace and make any returns when they have managed tasks and to keep positive about their learning overall. Pupils who are experiencing difficulties accessing online materials should contact our school mailbox which is: parkmainshighenquiries@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
As highlighted in my previous letter of 20/3/20, departments will put electronic materials together and set work for new S5 and S6 pupils (session 20/21) which supports them in their journey to their next level of study. More details on the instructions on how to access these materials will be made clear directly after the Easter break.
In terms of pupils’ National Qualifications attainment, we are working closely with the SQA and further guidance from them was provided yesterday evening. I refer you to the letter from the Director of Children’s services on this matter, which is attached, and has also been posted both on our website and on the council website.
During these challenging circumstances, we are also committed to supporting all of our pupils and our Senior Management Team and Principal Teachers of Pupil Support have been in touch with a range of families to check in and provide additional support if required. Again, please use the contact address below if you require support. Contact should be made to your child’s pastoral care teacher in the first instance.
I would like to thank you for your continued support, patience and understanding in these unprecedented times. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me or the appropriate member of staff through the school email address.
To keep up to date with school information please continue to visit our website and social media platforms.
I hope you and your family have a restful holiday and continue to stay safe and well.
Yours Sincerely
M Dewar
Head Teacher
