A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Scotland Loves Languages Week . It was great to see all the innovative ways you have all been learning and using languages. From flamenco to flag- making to French food, from weather wheels to watching French films to investigating ‘What languages can do for you’, from singing (and snowballs!) to Scots poetry to Spanish Days, it was fantastic to see all your inspirational ways of learning languages across the curriculum and raising the profile of the importance of languages for learning, life and work in 21st century. Thank you!
It was difficult to choose from all the many events and we wish we could have given out even more prizes but decisions had to be made. So after great debate prizes have been awarded to the following schools:
Community Events:
• Renfrew High School (For a variety of activities, including treasure hunts, quizzes and making crepes and for organising a language day for cluster primaries run by learner leaders)
• Gryffe High School (Also carried out a variety of activities across the two weeks and Language Ambassadors organised a variety of activities for their cluster primary schools)
• Park Mains High School (For organising a German Event run by the Language Ambassadors as part of their ongoing work with cluster primaries)
Well done to all the staff and pupils involved in organising and participating in the event, it was a fantastic success.
