Pipe fitter Job Description
Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, grinders, and pipe threaders and benders.
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, , according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
• Attach pipes to structures and fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools or welding equipment.
• Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipe lines.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following drawings
What will I learn?
Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations & Level 3 Welding & Fabrication, you will also attend a local college to attain the minimum of an NC In Welding & Fabrication
What qualification or qualities are required?
Minimum of National 5 in English, Maths, Physics or Chemistry plus a practical subject e.. Woodwork. The candidate must have a strong work ethos, be reliable and enthusiastic about learning.
