We were lucky to have Lynne Watson Vice President of Thales UK responsible for HR visit the school on Friday. Lynn brought her son Robbie a former pupil and now an apprentice at Thales. Lynne gave an overview of the Company and what they do. She also talked about the skills and qualities needed for engineering. Robbie gave an insight into the application procedure and his role as an apprentice. Its amazing what they do some of which is top secret. It can offer a variety of apprenticeships from modern technician level to Graduate apprentices in Engineering and Cyber Security where you get paid and get a Degree.
The pupils there found it very informative and are planning to apply before 3rd January deadline.
We are very grateful that Lynne and Robbie gave up their time to give such an informative presentation to some senior pupils.
