ICAS Foundation – Making a Difference

Bursaries of up to £10,000 payable over 4 years available

ICAS Foundation is a charity and we have bursary funding to award this year which may be of interest to your pupils. To date we have awarded £722,000 in bursary funding. The ICAS Foundation is a body that has been established by ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland) to make a significant difference to academically talented young people from disadvantaged communities by helping them take their first steps into a professional career in accountancy or finance.

As you will know, younger people from disadvantaged communities are under-represented at universities across Scotland and, in particular, on courses that lead to a life-long profession. ICAS, as one of the leading professional accountancy bodies in the world, believes that it can do more to open up access to the accountancy profession and has helped establish the Foundation to help do just that.

We offer bursaries of up to £2,500 per academic year for students studying Accountancy or Finance degree.

Students with parental income below £34,000 are eligible to apply.

We need your help to identify students who meet the criteria and are due/expect to start a university course, studying accountancy or finance this year. We would be interested in helping them. We are now accepting applications for bursary funding. The closing date for applications is 17 May 2017.

Application Forms together with guidance is available on our website www.icasfoundation.org.uk. If you could share this information with students who have been offered a place at University (conditional or unconditional) to study Accountancy and Finance and encourage eligible students to apply that would be great. It would be helpful if you were able to contact students before the Easter break to allow then time to submit an application.

If you have any questions then please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for your support.
