On my return, I was keen to “take the temperature” of the school in terms of the views of pupils, parents and staff and I have recently held focus groups for parents and staff which have been informative in determining where we are as a school in terms of strengths, areas for development, the school aims and other issues. I intend to use the forthcoming parents’ nights in January and February to further canvass parental views through the use of questionnaires. Through tutor groups, all pupils have had the opportunity to engage in discussions in small groups on these matters and an action plan will be drawn up in response to the key points pupils have raised.
