It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the passing, earlier this week, of Mr David Smart who was the first Headteacher of Park Mains HS. David was appointed prior to the original school opening in 1974 and was Headteacher until he retired in 1994. I am aware that there will be many of our former and existing parents that attended Park Mains while Mr Smart was Headteacher and I’m sure the whole school community will want to join with me in expressing our sympathy to his family at this difficult & sad time. Mr Smart made a very significant contribution to establishing the culture & ethos of Park Mains when the school opened & throughout the years he was in post. He will be sadly missed.
