What is Medical Equipment Management?

The Department of Clinical Physics and Bio-engineering (DCPB) provides the Medical Equipment Management Service for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The Departmental staff work closely with Clinical, Nursing & Allied Healthcare Professionals in providing a comprehensive range of maintenance and management services for patient connected and other electro medical and scientific equipment. These contracts will be administered and monitored by physics staff.

What education or qualifications do I need in order to apply?

At the time of submitting your application you must already hold a minimum of two Highers (or SCQF equivalent)  in Maths and Physics at grade A to C and Grades A to C in three other subjects at National Five (or equivalent) one of which must be English, OR an NC at SCQF Level 6 or above in an Engineering discipline (Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or Mechatronics).

Where will I work?

This post is based in the Medical and Clinical Physics department at the following location;

·         Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital

What departments will I be working in?

Much of the work takes place in the equipment servicing laboratory. Users of the Physics service send or arrange for equipment to be taken to the laboratory area. A significant proportion of the work takes place within clinical areas e.g. theatres, clinics, endoscopy, renal dialysis etc. This is mainly because these can be bulky items or equipment fixed in their location.
