Exam Results – Helpful Information for University Entrance

Helpful tips for University Entrance

At this time of stress here are some useful tips to deal with exam results.

UCAS Track where pupils see the progress of their University applications will be on lockdown from Thursday 2nd August when results are issued to Universities. This allows the Universities to offer places based on results.

UCAS WILL RE OPEN on Tuesday 7th August at 10am.

If you have been offered a place the first sentence will say CONGRATULATIONS.

If you need to look for alternative places you need to act fast.

YOU CAN ONLY ENTER CLEARING IF YOU ARE REJECTED BY ALL YOUR CHOICES.

You will then be issued with a clearing CODE.

You should call Universities you are interested in before you are issued code to ensure there will be a place for you and then apply formally when you get clearing number.

There are very few places available in clearing.

You can still apply to College although the choice is not as big as it was in February.

You should call the exam results helpline number in your results if you have concerns or are not sure what to do next.
This is staffed by Careers Advisers and I personally have handled calls on this for 20 years.

I shall be on holiday until 13th August this year. My Colleagues in our Paisley Centre in the Russell Institute will be available to offer advice.

Good luck
