S1 STEM Day 2016

S1 were recently involved in a STEM day to promote sustainability and the potential uses of renewable energy. Visitors from ‘Tomorrow’s Engineers’ delivered an interactive session which involved pupils competing to build a solar powered car and using their scientific knowledge to judge voltage and distance. All pupils got involved and enjoyed the session…definitely some engineers of the future!

Christmas Concert

Staff and pupils from Park Mains High School entertained an assembly hall full of parents, grandparents and people from the local community at their annual Christmas Concert which took place in the school on Tuesday 6 December.

Everyone who attended enjoyed listening to and watching the fabulously talented staff and pupils from the Choir and Orchestra to the junior pupils in the Drama Group. The pupils involved in the extra curricular groups within the Music Department put on a wonderful display of well known songs and music from across the years, which were enjoyed by everyone who attended.

S4 Art and Design – Kelvingrove Visit

47 S4 Art & Design pupils visited the Kelvingrove Museum to view an exhibition of Posters by Anton Mucha. They also took the chance to visit the Charles Rennie Mackintosh gallery also within the museum . Both exhibitions provide valuable background for the S4 Art Nouveau study which is part of the N4/N5 Art & Design course.

Chris Cardle was one of a group of Art & Design pupils who responded to a recent request from Erskine Hospital to produce a corridor mural which will be used by staff to display a series of portrait photographs.
