Well done to Zara Balling in S6 who has been recognised by the Modern Studies Educational Trust for being one of only three pupils in Scotland who achieved 100% in her Higher Modern Studies exam in June 2017.
Zara’s achievement will be recognised by inviting her and her family to the Modern Studies Association Conference to be presented with the Higher Modern Studies Trophy, a certificate of achievement and a £50 gift. The conference will be held at Glasgow University, Queen Margaret Union in November.
Well done Zara for your hard work achieving this fantastic award in recognition of 100% in your exam.
Here is the programme of extra curricular groups that take place in Park Mains High School every week. The school provide an additional school bus one hour after school from a Monday to Thursday, to allow pupils who normally travel on school buses, to participate.
As part of the school Health and Wellbeing programme being led by our PE staff, 35 pupils and 5 staff signed up to take part in our Bike Breakfast. This involved everyone cycling to school and staff in Home Economics provided everyone with a hot healthy breakfast on arrival at the school.
All the staff and pupils who signed up to participate had a safe but energetic journey to school but enjoyed the breakfast on arrival.
Thanks to Mr Chambers, Mr Toole and Mr McCulloch for organising the event, another one will take place soon. Also thanks to Miss Davidson and Mrs Forrest from Home Economics who had the hot healthy breakfast ready for all the participants.

at National Healthcare Weekend on the 4th and 5th November taking place at the University of Stirling: 7 conferences on different specialties in the same location on the same day!
Please note that these events are likely to fill up quickly!
It is a highly valuable opportunity for your students to network with a variety of healthcare professions, learn about work experience opportunities and how to make a successful application.
Registration is £25 for students on the Saturday conferences and there is an optional UCAS lecture available on Sunday for each specialty.
All proceeds from the weekend will be used to support our UK’s healthcare students with scholarships, elective bursaries, free training and educational initiatives.

Well done to the S3 Hospitality Team who provided the buffet and hospitality to our senior staff and invited guests at the Senior Award Ceremony last night. The pupils provided a fantastic buffet and great service with a smile.

Scotland’s Land-based and Aquaculture Sector: Careers Workshop
Please find attached an invitation to our Careers Workshop to be held on Wednesday 22nd November at Lanark Agricultural Centre.
The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the exciting and rewarding career opportunities offered within Scotland’s land-based and aquaculture sector. The event will take the form of industry speakers, interactive activity, networking and an optional tour of the Agricultural Centre.
We hope that you are able to attend but if this date is not suitable, we are running a similar event at Scottish National Heritage, Battleby Conference Centre, Perth on Friday 27th October.
