Job overview

The Confucius Institute for Scotland’s Schools, (CISS) within SCILT, Scotland’s National Centre for Languages, is looking to appoint a Modern Apprentice for this busy centre.

Working closely with the Project Officer and Project Co-ordinator, you will help provide effective administrative and organisational support to all staff within CISS, for visiting Chinese teachers and outside parties to ensure that all events, meetings and overseas trips are managed effectively.

In addition to general office duties such as room/catering bookings and preparing materials for conference packs, you will assist with the purchase of all CISS resources and will be responsible for booking travel and accommodation. The work will also involve assisting the administrative assistant with some aspects of finance and accurate record keeping.

What will I learn?

You will learn how to use the full suite of Microsoft Office packages as well mastering the basic skills required to work successfully in an administration environment. We will assist your team working and time/task management skills. The University also has a number of bespoke systems that you will learn to use.

What qualification or qualities are required?

We are looking for you to have a minimum of 4 Standard Grades at 1, 2 or 3/National 5s at C or above, which must include English and Administration/Computing.

£10,802 – £12,481 per year Glasgow Full-time (35 Hours) University of Strathclyde 04/11/2018 SCQF level 6/7
